Do Good…Always

Our hearts are heavy this week as we still try to process the events that occurred last week at Margorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL. Most of us at Agracel have children or grandchildren at various points of their educational careers, from pre-school to medical school. We, as I’m sure many of you as well, always believed it can’t happen to us, but we feel less confident of that with every news story that appears about these atrocities occurring in our schools. We vowed long ago that we would steer clear of issues of political nature, and we stand by that.

So, what do we do? Well, we “Do Good”. This isn’t really new to Agracel. Each year our team members spend some 600 hours volunteering for over 70 local organizations, like Junior High Mentoring, Blessings in a Backpack, United Way fundraisers, CEO mentoring, and many, many others.

This year, we are adding a new “Do Good.” We are supporting a local teen girl’s efforts to become Miss Illinois Outstanding Teen! We could not pass on the opportunity to help Elizabeth Weidner. Two years ago, Elizabeth was diagnosed with State IV Neuroblastoma. Elizabeth has cancer, but cancer does not have Elizabeth! One of Elizabeth’s dreams is to run for Miss Illinois Outstanding Teen. Agracel will be providing a sponsorship along with a donation to Children’s Miracle Network in Elizabeth’s honor.

It is our privilege to “Do Good.” And we are especially honored to support Elizabeth!
