Online Art Gallery of Rural Artists
We are always excited to share information about how small rural towns are showcasing the talent of their people. Nebraska Rural Living just unveiled a new page on their web site called Fine Arts in Towns Under 10,000. The page is an online art gallery that features the work of 10 Nebraska artists.
The goal of the gallery is to give artists a platform to share and sell their art while at the same time increase knowledge and appreciation of life in rural Nebraska. Artists submit their work for a juried selection process each quarter. Ten works are selected for each quarter. The goal is to provide the artists with a worldwide audience to admire and purchase their pieces.
Seventeen artists from across the state submitted artwork during the first call for entries. The artists range from art teachers to self-taught artists, a photographer and two sculptors, who tell the story of rural Nebraska through their art. Some realized their creative talents as children, and others discovered their niches later in life.
We love to see how a largely rural state such as Nebraska is doing something like their art gallery so people from around the country and the world can see the talent of rural artists from towns they would likely never have the opportunity to visit.
