The Agracel Development Team travels…a lot, typically visiting hundreds of communities each year. So when a community program catches their eye enough for them to suggest it for an Agurban, we listen! Following is information on a program in Allen County, Ohio that we want to share with our readers.
MakerFest 2016
The second annual Makerfest expo is a celebration of the world-class manufacturers, engineers, innovators, and skilled tradespersons of Lima and Allen County, Ohio. The primary goal of the event is to showcase many of the region’s top employers and attract a new generation of talent to the manufacturing and skilled trades sectors.
The expo provides a unique opportunity for students, teachers, and job seekers to interact with the employer and higher education representatives in attendance. In 2015, more than 2,000 people attended the event, including over 1,300 high school and college students from 22 area high schools, career technical schools, and colleges/universities, and more than 350 job seekers.
MakerFest 2016 will be a three-day expo held at Veterens Memorial Civic & Convention Center and Apollo Career Center in Lima, Ohio, on October 20-22, and will include skilled trades and STEM competitions, a 75+ employer Career Fair, workshops and breakout sessions, and the MakerFest Job Fair hosted by OhioMeansJobs.
