#259. Reflecting on 2009
Posted on | The AgurbanReflecting on 2009
As we welcome 2010, we reflect on the past year as one with many questions and very few answers. In our primary arena of manufacturing, the news was very dim. But we look forward to the new year with anticipation and hope that the economy will continue to recover.
We at Agracel always strive to provide the best customer service to our clients, and this year we were presented with a situation that allowed us to prove our dedication to our clients, especially those in dire situations.
On May 8, 2009, Herrin, IL, and the surrounding areas endured excessively high winds of nearly 80 miles per hour. It was later determined that the winds were “straight line winds” as opposed to a tornado. Our Herrin Manufacturing facility suffered a direct hit. Power was lost and the building sustained some roof damage. In addition, there were branches and debris scattered around the building and grounds.
We received the following note from one of our tenants in the facility:
The good news is that everyone is safe and no injuries. I want to thank everyone (within the company) for their support during this time of need. This has been my first natural disaster. I would also like to thank Agracel, the building owners, for their immediate response time in getting us up and running for the next business day. We had a hiccup last Friday as well with the generator and Agracel was able to fix the situation within the hour. (We) were able to get two generators with Agracel and powered up by Sunday.
Thank you to all our clients! We are happy to serve you. And while we hope you don’t suffer any natural disasters, know that we will be there if you do.
Have a great 2010!
