It’s here! Finally, November 4, 2008!

It has been a particularly brutal campaign season. Hopefully within a few hours we will know who our next president will be. (Hanging chads not withstanding.) With all the negativism, it seems we don’t have much to be optimistic about. But then we find something that makes us stand a little taller, a little prouder.

The World Economic Forum recently published their study, The Global Competitiveness Report 2008-2009. Even with more bad economic news every day, it seems many experts still believe “the fundamentals of the American economy are strong.” The latest edition of the annual report continues to rank the United States as the world’s most competitive economy.

The main goal of The Global Competitiveness Report is to provide a picture of a nation’s economic environment and its ability to achieve sustained levels of prosperity and growth. The survey covered 134 countries and was completed by over 12,000 top management business leaders.

The rest of the world continues to be amazed that for over 200 years, we have peacefully and without incident passed power from one president and party to another every four or eight years. No other country in the world can say as much.

So no matter what your political affiliation, you cannot deny that we live in the greatest country in the world! Be sure you get out and vote!
